In her new role, she will define exmox’s QA strategy, drive test automation and release quality, and lead the growth of the QA team, working in close partnership with engineering to ensure that quality is embedded at every stage of the development process. As exmox continues to scale as a leading user engagement platform and one of Europe’s next tech challengers, Katharina will play a central role in ensuring that growth never comes at the expense of the experience millions of users rely on every day.
Katharina has spent her career not just practising quality assurance, but actively advancing it, from manual checklists to deeply integrated automation frameworks. Most recently, she served as Director of Engineering Backend (Europe + QA + PMO) at Visable GmbH, where she led a team of 32 across Backend Engineering, QA, and Agile Project Management, spanning operations on two continents. Her technical expertise covers the full breadth of modern QA practice: test automation, API, and end-to-end testing across web and mobile, and quality work in regulated environments.
Katharina shared her perspective on quality and why she’s excited to build it at exmox:
“Gaming is all about speed, and quality is what makes it possible to keep up with that pace in the first place. What excites me about exmox is that we build products millions of users interact with every day: when something doesn’t work, everyone notices immediately. That’s exactly why I’m looking forward to building QA here not as a brake, but as an accelerator with automation, clear processes, and a team that catches bugs before they go viral. And honestly: I’m really excited about all the motivated people at exmox and especially about my amazing team because in the end, great quality is always a team effort.”
Welcoming Katharina to the team, exmox’s CTO, Bartek Domek, highlighted the value her expertise brings to exmox’s continued growth:
“Katharina brings exactly the kind of experience and mindset we need as we scale. Someone who understands that quality isn't a final step, but a foundation. Her track record of building QA from the ground up and leading large, cross-functional teams speaks for itself. I'm genuinely excited to have her shape how we think about quality at exmox, and I'm confident she'll make our entire engineering organisation stronger.”
